Concho Christmas Tour of Lights Marks 20th Year

This year will mark a milestone as Concho Christmas Celebration celebrates its 20th year delighting guests from the Concho Valley and across the state and nation with its Concho River Light Tour.

The 2014 Concho Christmas Celebration Light Tour will begin this year on Friday, December 5th and will run every night through Wednesday, December 31st. The Tour will be open from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on weeknights, and from 6 p.m. to midnight on weekends. A suggested donation of $5 per vehicle is greatly appreciated, and families are invited to walk, run, bike, or drive the Tour.

The Tour has blossomed from a simple walking tour to a multi-mile journey along the Concho River, featuring more than three million lights and more than fifty Christmas Greeting Cards.   With the addition of five additional poinsettia flowers and two directional Elves, the tour is sure to thrill young and old alike.

The Light Tour is one of many activities coordinated by Concho Christmas Celebration. The afternoon of December 6th will begin with the Community Tree Lighting Ceremony, featuring the Twin Mountain Tonesmen, Harmony Belles Chorus, and the San Angelo Community Band.  The ceremony will occur at the corner of Concho and Chadbourne, and will begin around 5:15 p.m.  Immediately following the Ceremony, guests are invited to stay downtown to enjoy the Lights of Christmas Parade, starting at 6 p.m. The parade will begin in the Shannon parking lot and will travel through the downtown area.

Don’t forget to join us for our other activities, including “Bike Through the Lights;” a bicycle riding tour on December 7th, “Run Rudolph Run;” a non-competitive fun run, “Tuba Christmas,” at Trinity Lutheran Church, both on December 13th, and Santa’s Santa Fe Depot.
