Suicidal Subject Causes Police Presence at TLCA

 

At approximately 11:07 a.m. today, San Angelo Police Dispatch received a call about a possible suicidal subject whose whereabouts were unknown.  The caller was a relative who had recently heard the 33-year-old San Angelo man talking about hurting himself.   

The caller did not know the current location of the man, but gave a local address and said he had children attending TLCA elementary school located in the 3300 block of Barry Ave.   

As a precaution, San Angelo Police Officers responded to the area of TLCA to prevent any issues.  There were no threats made toward TLCA, its faculty, or students. 

Officers made contact with the subject by phone and located him a short time later in the 600 block of South Oakes.  After Officers made contact with the individual he continued make statements to the Officers about hurting himself.  

Officers, believing the man had the potential to hurt himself, requested the Tom Green County Mental Health Deputies for additional evaluation.  The TGCSO Mental Health Deputies transported the man for further medical evaluation.
