Last week of the American Plains Artists Show

This is the last week to view the American Plains Artists Show at Fort Concho. The display is available for viewing from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily through Saturday, Aug. 9, and from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 10. There is no charge to see the display.

The show is located in the fort’s Quartermaster Gallery, the former home of the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts, at Burgess Street and Avenue C on the fort’s northeast corner.

The show features 71 pieces of art covering many western themes. Guests may vote for their favorite painting or sculpture. Thus far, more than 400 visitors have picked their top choice.

All of the works are for sale, with all proceeds benefiting the artist, the American Plains Artists organization and Fort Concho.
