Rollover Crash on Houston-Harte Frontage Near Paul Ann Baptist Church

Medic 1 EMS crews and the San Angelo Fire Department were tending to a single vehicle rollover on La Follette St, the frontage road to Houston-Harte Expressway near the Paulann Baptist Church this evening.

The police logs described the location as the 2700 block of Houston-Harte.

It took 30-35 minutes for rescue crews to extract the injured female driver. She was transported to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries.

The crash happened just before the first wave of rains hit San Angelo. There was time before the storm that allowed the crews to work without significant rain. After the crash victim was loaded into the ambulance, the downpour rain began.

She was driving a Chevrolet Blazer and the crash happened at approximately 8:41 p.m.

Update 9:44 p.m.

Crash crews are still there. The downpour of rain is fairly heavy hendering cleanup efforts. The frontage road is closed and the Home Motors wrecker has not arrived on the scene yet.

Update 10:00 p.m.

Heavy downpouring rains were causing the San Angelo LIVE! Batmobile to sink into the mud on the shoulder of the frontage road. We evacuated the scene to find more dry land (or pavement). Another minor crash reported at Sherwood Way at Johnson. We're wrapping up this report.
