SAN ANGELO, TX – Long time Texas Ranger Nick Hanna announced his bid for Sheriff of Tom Green County Monday afternoon surrounded by family and supporters on the steps of the Tom Green County Courthouse.

Hanna was recently sworn in as Tom Green County Sheriff's Chief Deputy and was joined Monday by current Tom Green County Sheriff David Jones.

Watch Hanna throw his hat into the ring:

Hanna was joined by his wife and daughter and daughter-in-law during his announcement.

He is running as a Republican in the GOP primary March 3, 2020.

Hanna told supporters he has networking skills and has connections in the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Texas Rangers and the Texas Attorney General's office and can marshal those resources to benefit the Tom Green County Sheriff's office.

The filing deadline for a place on the March primary ballot was 6 p.m. Monday evening, Dec. 9.

Can you please fill in one very important (but missing) detail here?
Is Chief Deputy Hanna running against another candidate, or is he the sole candidate on this ballot for Sheriff now that the filing deadline has passed?
Thank you.
