Central Texas Man Announces Bid for Conaway's Congressional Seat

 

COMANCHE, TX -- Robert Tucker of Comanche, TX announced his bid Thursday for the United States Congressional seat for District 11 currently held by Mike Conaway of Midland, TX.  

Conaway announced earlier he is not seeking reelection in 2020.  

Tucker is running as a Republican for the Congressional seat that includes San Angelo and the Concho Valley.  

According to information released Thursday, Tucker's campaign will emphasize supporting teachers and administrators in Texas' educational system, minimizing the federal government's overreach in Texas agriculture, and embracing the development of Texas energy production.

Tucker has worked as an aircraft mechanic and has owned two businesses. 

The campaign says Tucker has served as in the military and has also served as a small town church pastor.  He also has served as a paramedic. 

Tucker is one of several individuals who have expressed a desire to run for the congressional seat representing San Angelo.
