Dewitt Wins SMD 6 City Council Runoff Election by 29 Votes: 578 to 549

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – Only eight votes separate Billie Dewitt and Steve Hampton with early voting and mail-in ballots counted. 

  • DeWitt – 364 (49.5%)
  • Hampton – 372 (50.5%)

Polls closed at 7 p.m. This is a developing story. LIVE! will continue to report on the results as soon as they become available.   

While the results remain unofficial, Billie Dewitt has won the City Council SMD 6 runoff election by the smallest of measures.

Dewitt received 578 ballots while Steve Hampton received 549 in the runoff election where the candidate who receives the most votes wins. 

Dewitt will replace Charlotte Farmer representing SMD 6.

I hope Billie Dewitt takes them by storm and they don't know what hit them. I believe she has enough business sense and common sense to get the job done. Her biggest challenge is going to be working with the group of people she will have to work it.
