WATCH: Flood Advisory Extended

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – The National Weather Service office in San Angelo has extended the Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for Tom Green County Until 2:15 p.m.

At 12:14 p.m. Emergency management reported three feet of water at a low water crossing, at Walnut Grove Road and Ricci Acre in Grape Creek. Also, additional rainfall is expected this afternoon in the advisory area. Some locations that will experience flooding include San Angelo, Christoval, Goodfellow Air Force Base, Lake Nasworthy, Wall, Twin Buttes Reservoir, O.C. Fisher Reservoir, San Angelo State Park, Veribest, Tankersley, Vancourt, Knickerbocker, Grape Creek, Mereta, Orient, Carlsbad and Harriet.

This includes the following Low Water Crossings College Hills and Millbrook, Southwest Blvd and Loop 306, Howard and Webster, Jackson from Knickerbocker to South Bryant, FM 2334 crossing Dry Lipan Creek, Huntington and Sunset, Huntington and Sunset, FM 2334 crossing Nine mile Creek, FM 1692 crossing Sales Branch and FM 1692 crossing Concho River.

A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
