Puppy Rescued from Backyard Pipe

ABILENE, TX – Abilene Firefighters rescued a 4-week-old puppy after he got stuck inside a water pipe.

According to KTXS, the owner of the puppy, Sierra Henzen, believes the puppy slipped into the pipe when he was following his mother in the backyard.

The puppy was trapped inside the pipe for about 45 minutes. Firefighters worked for nearly half an hour digging up the dirt and cutting the pipe.

“This is fairly rare to rescue a dog like this," said Jimmy Hill, an AFD Firefighter. "But to do it, and him come out alive — we had very little problems and complications — this makes it all worthwhile.”

The puppy, along with his five siblings is being given away for free to a good home.
