SAN ANGELO, TX – A strong cold front is blowing through the Concho Valley today bringing much needed rain but also dangerous thunderstorms and frigid temperatures.
According to the National Weather Service office in San Angelo, thunderstorms will be possible across the entire area today.
The main hazards will be dangerous lightning, gusty winds, and locally heavy rainfall.
San Angelo streets will flood during heavy rainfall today.
Temperatures started out Thursday morning in the upper 60s and will fall to around 40 degrees by the afternoon.
Overnight temperatures will be in the low to mid 30s so a light freeze is expected in low lying rural areas across the Concho Valley.
Showers are likely today and possibly a thunderstorm. Cloudy, with a temperature falling to around 41 by 5pm.
Breezy, with a north wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
On Friday, it'll be mostly cloudy with a high near 52 and north wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light in the morning.
For football Friday night expect mostly cloudy skies with temperatures at game time around 40. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph.
On Saturday look for cool temperatures in the low to mid 40s and rising during the Veterans Day Parade in downtown San Angelo.
