WATCH: Squall Line Threatens the Concho Valley Friday Night

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- Severe thunderstorms could develop Friday afternoon in the western counties of the Concho Valley and they could threaten San Angelo during the overnight hours. 

Isolated thunderstorms may develop late this afternoon west of a Hamlin to Coleman to Mason line. Storms will increase in coverage this evening and become widespread after midnight. A few thunderstorms may reach severe levels, with large hail, damaging winds and deadly lightning being the primary concerns. An isolated tornado or two will also be possible, along with locally heavy rainfall.

Watch as National Weather Service Meteorologist Hector Guerrero details the possibilities: 

There is an 80 percent chance of thunderstorms overnight.
