Squall Line Could Produce Hail & Tornadoes Tonight

SAN ANGELO, TX -- A strong cold front moving through West Texas is forecast to produce high winds and possible tornadoes Tuesday night as a dense fog advisory is in effect until mid-morning.

The National Weather Service Office in San Angelo has issued a dense fog advisory for the Concho Valley until 10 a.m. 

Dense fog is likely through mid morning. A few thunderstorms may develop by late afternoon with damaging winds, large hail and lightning the main threats.

A squall line will develop late tonight and move across west central Texas during the overnight hours.

The main threats will be damaging winds, large hail, and isolated tornadoes.

Heavy rainfall toward morning may produce flash flooding across the northeast.

The NWS has also issued a high wind watch for Wednesday across the area.   

A High Wind Watch means there is the potential for a hazardous high wind event.

Sustained winds of at least 40 mph...or gusts of 58 mph or stronger may occur. Continue to monitor the latest forecasts.

There is a 50 percent chance of rain Tuesday and a 100 percent chance Tuesday night.  

Expect southwest winds tonight at 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.
