Cold Front Bringing Freezing Temps Three Nights in a Row

SAN ANGELO, TX -- A Cold Front pushing south through the middle of the country will bring temperatures in the mid 20s to the Concho Valley by Monday night. 

According to the National Weather Service Office in San Angelo, the area will see below freezing temperatures three nights in a row. 

Much colder air will invade West Central Texas late Sunday night and Monday.

On Monday morning, temperatures are expected to fall into the 30s across the Big Country, Concho Valley and northern Heartland areas.

For southern parts of the area, temperatures will fall into the 30s by late Monday afternoon.

With brisk north winds on Monday, wind chill values are expected to be in the 20s across the northern half of West Central Texas, and in the upper 20s to lower 30s across the southern half.

A widespread freeze is expected Monday night, with temperatures expected to drop into mid to upper 20s for lows across the area. Precautions may need to be taken to protect sensitive plants.

A cold rain is expected late Sunday night and early Monday morning across much of the area.

Precipitation chances will linger into the morning hour Monday, with precipitation gradually ending during the afternoon hours.

Rain could mix with light snow at times across areas mainly north of a Sterling City to Brownwood line during the day Monday.

With warm ground conditions and only light precipitation anticipated during the day Monday, no snow accumulation is expected.

There is a 40 percent chance of rain Sunday night with temperatures in the mid 40s.  

On Monday, there is a 50 percent chance of rain with temperatures in the mid 30s throughout the day.
