The National Weather Service Office in San Angelo has issued an Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for Coke, Sterling, Tom Green, Runnels  Concho and Irion Counties until 12:15 p.m.

At 8:51 a.m, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain that will cause urban and small stream flooding in the advisory area. Around one quarter to one half inch of rain has fallen.

Additional rainfall in the range of one quarter to one half inch is likely over the area. This additional rain will cause minor flooding.
The Concho Valley is the most likely place to experience minor flooding.

This includes the following low water crossings: Howard and Webster, Southwest Blvd and Loop 306, Jackson From Knickerbocker to South Bryant, College Hills and Millbrook, FM 2334 crossing Dry Lipan Creek, FM 1692 crossing The Draw, 1500 Block of Spaulding, FM 2334 crossing Ninemile Creek, FM 1929 crossing Fuzzy Creek and Sul Ross At Red Arroyo Crossing.

Do not drive through these low water crossings or any other low water crossing with water flowing across the roadway.  A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

SAN ANGELO, TX -- The Concho Valley is bracing for another round of heavy rain tonight and Wednesday with the possibility of additional devastating flooding.

Area reservoirs could pick up even more much needed water.

According to the National Weather Service Office in San Angelo widespread rain will occur across the region Wednesday, and locally heavy rainfall is possible.

This will lead to an increased potential for flooding and flash flooding given the already saturated grounds from recent rainfall.

A flash flood watch has been issued starting at 1 a.m. Wednesday and runs through Wednesday evening.

Widespread rain is likely tonight southwest of a Mason to Sterling City line.

There is a possibility of locally heavy rainfall which could result in flooding.

While Lake Nasworthy is full, Twin Buttes Reservoir is less than half full, O.C. Fisher is about 15 percent full, O.H. Ivie is 35.2 percent full and E.V. Spence is 22.2 percent of capacity.

Forecasters have a 90 percent chance of rain tonight and a 100 percent chance of rainfall for Wednesday.

This is potentially a dangerous situation for all of West Central Texas because of already saturated soil from previous rainfall and flooding.

This is a developing and serious situation and we will update this story as updated information is available.
