Flood Warning for San Angelo and the Concho Valley

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- Flooding continues across the city of San Angelo and the Concho Valley and is expected to continue for through Thursday night.

The National Weather Service in San Angelo has issued a Flood Warning for the following counties; Coke, Coleman, Tom Green, Runnels,  Concho until 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.

At 4:20 p.m. doppler radar continues to indicate light to moderate rain over already saturated grounds, and law enforcement reports many secondary roads with flooded and impassable low water crossings.

There are also reports of small creeks running full and spilling over.  Some locations that will experience flooding include San Angelo, Coleman, Ballinger, Winters, Santa Anna, Robert Lee, Blackwell, Paint Rock, Christoval, Maverick, Eden, Bronte, Miles, Novice, E.V. Spence Reservoir Near Paint Creek Recreation Area, Hatchel, Sanco, Knickerbocker, Eola and Rowena.

This includes the following low water crossings; Howard and Webster, Southwest Blvd and Loop 306, Jackson From Knickerbocker to South Bryant, College Hills and Millbrook, FM 2334 crossing Dry Lipan Creek, FM 1692 crossing The Draw, 1500 Block of Spaulding, FM 2334 crossing Nine mile Creek, FM 1929 crossing Fuzzy Creek and Sul Ross At Red Arroyo Crossing.

Do not drive through these low water crossings or any other low water crossing with water flowing across the roadway.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying spots.
