VIDEO: Saturday's Rainfall is Sunday's Runoff in the Red Arroyo

SAN ANGELO, TX -- Rainfall across San Angelo Saturday created some minor street flooding at times and generated runoff into the Red Arroyo.

Sunday morning, the Red Arroyo between College Hills Blvd. and Knickerbocker Rd. was running bank full in the channel.  See the pictures above.

Below is a video from a bridge on the walking trail between Travis Elementary and the Golf Driving Range.

The National Weather Service office in San Angelo recorded .78 inches Saturday.  For September, the NWS recorded 4.56 inches of rainfall, and for the year, we've had 18.09 inches which is 2.69 inches above normal.

The precipitation since Sept. 1 saturated the ground and any additional rain that falls creates runoff.

Here's a video of the runoff in the Red Arroyo at the Knickerbocker Rd. bridge.

There's a 40 percent chance of additional rain today and a slight chance throughout the week.  There is another round of showers and thunderstorms forecast for next weekend.
