SAN ANGELO, TX -- Overnight thunderstorms brought much needed rain int the Concho Valley and the storms are expected to continue for several days.
According to forecasters with the National Weather Service, an area of showers and thunderstorms over much of the Concho Valley and parts of the Northern Edwards Plateau will gradually dissipate this morning.
Additional rainfall amounts of one tenth to one quarter of an inch are expected, but amounts up to one inch are possible in parts of Crockett County. Other showers in the northern Big Country should also gradually dissipate.
Motorists in the Concho Valley and northern Crockett County should be alert for ponding of water on roads from recent heavy rainfall.
Several rounds of thunderstorms are expected Friday through Monday, with considerable coverage across West Central Texas.
The main storm threats will be dangerous lightning, localized gusty winds, and heavy rainfall. The heavy rainfall may result in flooding, especially of low lying areas, roadways, and low water crossings.
There are no watches or warnings in effect at this time.
