Infuriated Leftists Decry Chick-Fil-A's Donation to the Salvation Army as Anti-Gay

SAN ANGELO, TX — Three specific donations from the Chick-Fil-A Foundation, including one to the Salvation Army, have infuriated leftist activists who set forth to shame the corporation for giving millions to non-profit organizations “with a record of anti-LGBTQ discrimination” in 2017.

The amounts the foundation donated in 2017 even show a “slight increase” over prior years, the left-wing website ThinkProgress.org claimed.

The donations that drew the leftists’ ire were:

  • $1,653,416 to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes
  • $6,000 to the Paul Anderson Youth Home
  • $150,000 to the Salvation Army

The website looked at public filings from the foundation and claimed these three organizations were steeped in an anti-homosexual agenda, and then pointed to an opinion expressed by Chick-Fil-A CEO Dan Cathy seven years ago.

“I think we are inviting God's judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at Him and say, ‘We know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage.’ I pray God's mercy on our generation that has such a prideful, arrogant attitude to think that we have the audacity to define what marriage is about,” Cathy was reported to have told Ken Coleman on The Ken Coleman Show.

The Ken Coleman Show is a syndicated radio show and podcast about career advice that is promoted on the Dave Ramsey group, Ramsey Solutions.

Since Cathy’s expression of his personal opinion, leftist pro-homosexuality groups have pummeled Chick-Fil-A for being discriminatory towards homosexuals.

Although the Chick-Fil-A corporation that sells fast food is a separate legal entity from the Chick-Fil-A Foundation, leftist groups have demanded boycotts of Chick-Fil-A Restaurants pointing to their support of Christian-based non-profit organizations.

Here in San Angelo, the Salvation Army is in crisis. The non-profit was forced to close its emergency homeless shelter due to lack of funding February 28. Major Stan Carr explained San Angelo’s branch of the Salvation Army hopes to obtain sustainable funding for its shelter through establishing an endowment. You can donate here.

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes in the Concho Valley impacts about 2,500 students in 14 counties. This is a large territory to cover that encompasses 40 secondary schools as well as Angelo State University. You can donate here.

The Paul Anderson Youth Home is located in Vidalia, Georgia. It is a Christian residential home for troubled youth and has been in operation since 1961.

In San Angelo, the franchise owner Blake Wilson told the San Angelo Home Builders Association last year that the Chick-Fil-A location on Sherwood Way has the busiest drive-through of all Chick-Fil-A locations in the nation.

In their current agitated state, when are Leftists not "infuriated?" I've never seen a group of more insecure, scared, infuriated over something, people. Good grief, a Christian organizations can't even donate money to a good cause without infuriation.

The group and party of "tolerance" and "acceptance of differences in lifestyles", are some of the most intolerant and prejudiced assholes you'd never want to meet.

Without respect to my opinion of "what God thinks", these donations will ultimately do some good, help a few people in need and ease the strain that our local Salvation Army has been going through lately.

On the other hand, a group of snowflakes whining that we're not all forced to openly embrace everybody that they assume we should, does nothing for anyone.

If it's any consolation to the perpetual crybabies, I'm almost certain that gay's will still be as gay tomorrow as they were today. I've never seen any amount of money sway human nature, or curb vices, one way or another on any large scale or permanent basis.

The donations will have as much of an impact on gay couples as "praying the gay away". In short, nothing will change.

attacks on Christians. Which is fully acceptable nowadays
Really anything goes that the vile nasty demonrats do or say.

So what else is new, the leftists are upset again. However, they have no right to be upset over what Chick-fil-a does with their donation money. Plus, even if they did donate it to the Salvation Army, although they are a Christian organization, they do not discriminate against anyone to whom they provide their services. If the LGBTQ community expects the rest of the world to be accepting of their lifestyle, they should also be accepting of everyone else's lifestyle.
