School Shooting: Tragic, Predictable, Preventable

SAN ANGELO, TX – Another tragic school shooting with a predictable outcome; in coming days aquaintances and authorities and the liberal media will again march to the drum beat of gun control and even to the extreme of gun confiscation.

None of the individuals responsible for the shootings followed gun laws.  Not a one. And we as Americans can write and approve and cheer on all the new gun control legislation we want too and the mass shootings will continue.  it's not the guns or the availability to them.  It's bad actors and their mental problems and the staunch unwillingness of their friends and family to intervene.

The Asian male suspect who shot himself in the head Thursday morning had all the benchmarks of a troubled individual capable of committing the violence he did to himself and others.

Friends and family who have publicly blamed guns and screamed through tears for new gun laws freely admit they should've said something and didn't.

If guns are to blame, then so are they.  What ever happened to if you see something say somethig?

I might be a bit jaded, but school shootings are nothing new.  They have occurred in San Angelo.  And while we're at it, lets get real about the definition of a mass shooting; two or more people injured by gunfire?  Are you kidding me?  That happens every night in every major city in the United States especially Chicago (Decades of Liberal leadership and policies).

We now live in a time where sensational headlines and video drive media content, generations of our fellow Americans are addicted to – and live in – a world where their social media persona is more important than the individual they are in person, violent video games have more attendance and influence than churches, porn is free on every computer and smart phone, online dating is riddled with fake profiles attempting to steal money from desperately lonely people,  and jails are filled with suspects accused of sex crimes.

Where are out elected representatives on this day where two teenagers are shot to death in a school in California and a Walmart store in El Paso reopens after a mass shooting which killed 22 people?

They are holding hearings in Washington D.C. grandstanding and attempting to get re-elected by attacking an unpopular President who was duly, legally elected.  They are holding pre-impeachment hearings attempting to remove President Trump from office and barely even giving lip service to addressing an issue that causes the death of hundreds of Americans each year.

They are cowardly politicians and all of them should be voted out of office.

We've been wringing our hands offering only hopes and prayers for years.  The people responsible for the heinous acts are missing four things; faith, family, treatment and guidance.

The investigation into most of the recent mass shootings shows several consistencies:  the individuals responsible are suffering from some type of mental illness, they reach out on social media, they blame others for their failures, they often are addicted to violent video games, they come from broken homes, they can't fit in school or they can't keep a regular job, and they are anti-social and have few friends.
