Coronavirus: Taylor County Reported 17 New Cases Tuesday

 

ABILENE, TX — COVID-19 cases continue to rise in Taylor County, but at a much lower rate than in San Angelo. 

On Tuesday afternoon the Abilene-Taylor County Health District reported 17 new cases (14 PCR, 3 antigen) in addition to one new death.

By comparison, Tom Green County reported 55 new cases and three additional deaths on the same day.

According to county officials, the patient, who is the county’s 19th death, was identified as a male in his 60s with preexisting conditions.

The health department also reported 53 recoveries and 36 current hospitalizations. 

Out of the 36 hospitalized, 20 of the patients are classified as out of county.

  • Deaths: 19
