Institute to hold Dia de la Mujer Healthcare Seminar for Spanish-speaking Women

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- Laura W. Bush Institute for Women’s Health presents Dia de la Mujer, a fun event designed for Spanish-speaking and bilingual women to increase overall knowledge of health, healthcare and access to healthcare in the concho valley.  

WHAT: We are expecting about 250 Spanish-speaking/bilingual women will have access to great health resources and educational information with no language barriers. Topics that are relevant to a Hispanic healthy living and lifestyle will be addressed during the event in a fun and educational atmosphere.

Some of the primary topics to be covered during this program will include access to health care, diabetes, breast health and women’s preventive care. The event will feature a message from keynote speaker and three-time Emmy winner Gaby Natale, a Zumba demonstration by Zumba instructors from San Angelo Community Health Club, and a cooking demonstration from chef Marc Daniels at San Angelo Community Medical Center.

WHEN: Saturday, Sept. 30. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. The event will be from 8 a.m.-2 p.m.

WHERE: Foster Communications Coliseum, 50 E. 43rd St.
