Larry Joe Taylor Music Fest Moved to October Because of Coronavirus

SAN ANGELO, TX – For the first time in 32 years, the LJT Music Festival held near Stephenville will not be occurring at the end of April. The event has been postponed until October according to a statement on the website.

According to the statement, the Taylor family consulted with local and state officials before deciding to move the festival to October 19-24, 2020. LJT organizers confirmed that as of Monday morning 75 percent of the artists, including the six headliners, have been confirmed for the October date.

As public health concerns continue to grow, mass gathering permits will not be granted by local officials, making it impossible for the family or operate a large event without the personnel required to keep everyone safe.

“Right now the goal of the local and state governments is to protect the health of its citizens, law enforcement, and emergency management staff,” said the Taylor family. “We support these decisions and hope to get past this time as quickly as possible.”

As of this time all current ticket, camping, parking, and VIP holders for the April 2020 event are valid. The festival is currently developing options for those who would like to transfer their tickets/camping to October 2020, April 2021, or would like a refund.

The company asks for time and patience as they figure out all the logistics of the event. Ticket holders will be notified by email with the options and procedures to move forward on Monday, March 23.

The Larry Joe Taylor Texas Music Festival, commonly called the LJT Music Fest, is a premiere multi-day showcase of Texas Country Music. Each year, approximately 65,000 people make the pilgrimage to the Melody Mountain Ranch in Erath County near Stephenville to see popular Texas musicians showcased on multiple stages.  The festival spans six days.
