West Texas Man Picks John Legends Team on the "Voice"

 

MIDLAND, TX -- A Midland Man auditioned for the voice and ended up making one of the teams. 

According to the MIdland Reporter Telegram, on October 7 Matt New, 29, of Midland made his debut performance on the Voice. 

New performed Post Malone's Sunflower and happened to get three of the four judges to turn their chair around. Blake Shelton held out on New. 

After New completed the song he got to choose what team he wanted to be on. He talked with his children that were brought to the stage and he chose to be on R&B legend John Legend's team.

The competition continues every Monday and New will perform during the Battle Rounds on October 14.
