Lincoln Middle School Cheerleader to Perform in Thanksgiving Day Parade

SAN ANGELO, TX -- A San Angelo cheerleader will perform Thanksgiving Day in the Walt Disney World Thanksgiving Day Parade according to the San Angelo ISD website.

Lincoln Middle School eighth grader Amber Garivay was one of 500 All-American cheerleaders selected to perform in the annual parade during cheerleading camps over the summer.

All-Americans are selected via tryout based on either superior cheerleading or dance skills at camps operated by Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA), Universal Dance Association (UDA), National Cheerleaders Association (NCA), or National Dance Alliance (NDA). Only the top 10% of the cheerleaders and dancers from Varsity Spirit camps earn the chance to march in a holiday parade of this caliber.

"You will never know what you are capable of until you push yourself," said Amber.

"I am honored to get this opportunity to represent my Cheer squad, my school and my City where I live. I am proud to be representing where I come from and thank God above all for this amazing opportunity. Being named an All-American is something I will represent with great honor and to the fullest."

Garivay will perform with the Varsity Spirit All-Americans in a one-of-a-kind pre-parade performance through Disney's Magic Kingdom Park on Thanksgiving Day.
