Shipley's Do-Nuts Making Its Way out to West Texas

ABILENE, TX -- Shipley's Do-Nuts is opening a restaurant in Abilene.

According to KTXS 12, Shipley's Do-Nuts will be located at 4001 Buffalo Gap Road and has already submitted building permits for their interior alterations according to the city.

Shipley's Do-Nuts was created in 1936 when Lawrence Shipley Sr. created his gourmet donut recipe for Houston to enjoy. They were priced at five cents per dozen and only sold in wholesale. They've grown to 60 variations of their originally famous glazed do-nut, but the original glazed is still the number one seller.
