San Angelo ISD Halts All Summer Workouts

SAN ANGELO, TX – The San Angelo ISD has decided to temporarily suspend all summer workout and practices to help fight the spread of COVID-19.

The following is a statement from SAISD:

Due to the recommendation released by the University Interscholastic League (UIL) on Wednesday, July 1st, San Angelo ISD is temporarily suspending all athletic workouts and practices until Monday, July 13th. This includes all athletics, strength and conditioning, band, and color guard.

“For schools in areas experiencing community spread of COVID-19, this temporary suspension will reduce risk of exposure and provide an opportunity to review current plans and re-evaluate local context in order to make informed decisions moving forward,’ the UIL said in a statement.

“UIL will continue to work with state officials and monitor CDC and other federal guidance to determine any potential modifications to UIL summer guidelines.’
