Sheriff: Large Meth Bust at San Angelo Lodge

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office Monday confirmed a large meth bust at the San Angelo Lodge.

According to officials, on Saturday, January 9, deputies were serving an arrest warrant at the lodge. Deputies were looking for 33-year-old Armando Cruz, who had several outstanding felony warrants.

While arresting Cruz, deputies observed drug paraphernalia in the vicinity.

The Criminal Investigations department assisted in the subsequent search of the hotel room where law enforcement located a large quantity of meth. 

In addition to the narcotics, deputies found numerous firearms, including a stolen AR-15 rifle.

A second supsect, identified as 39-year-old Daniel Ruiz, was also taken into custody.

The bond for Cruz and Ruiz has been set to $125,000 each.

Additional arrests and charges are pending in connection to the case.
