Shots-fired Incident in Big Bend Involving Border Patrol

 

PRESIDIO, TX – Presidio Border Patrol agents encountered two vehicles involved in a smuggling attempt near Presidio High School late at night on Aug. 13, 2020.

During the attempted apprehension of the subjects, a Border Patrol agent discharged his service weapon in protection of life at the scene.

Both vehicles were later encountered and all of the subjects were apprehended by the agents. No injuries were reported as a result of the gunfire.

The drivers of both vehicles are pending criminal charges. 

The incident is under investigation by the FBI and a review of the shooting incident is being conducted by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Professional Responsibility led Use of Force Incident Team.
