Border Patrol Agents Arrest Illegal Alien Convicted Rapist

 

PRESIDIO, Texas – Border Patrol agents arrest an individual from El Salvador with a felony conviction for rape.

“This arrest highlights the work of our agents to help protect communities near the border and throughout the United States,” said Big Bend Sector Acting Chief Patrol Agent Chris T. Clem.  “It also serves as a reminder that there are criminals attempting to enter our country through our southern border on a regular basis.”

On August 4, 2020, Border Patrol agents assigned to the Presidio Station responded to a concerned citizen call and encountered an individual from El Salvador, who was in the United States illegally.

During processing, it was discovered that the individual had previously been convicted of a felony rape charge and served three years in prison.  The individual was processed per applicable immigration laws. 

Big Bend Sector Border Patrol agents, patrol 517 miles of the southwest border, an area that extends from Sierra Blanca, Texas to Sanderson, Texas.   The Presidio Station area consists of the southern half of Presidio County, the third largest county in the state of Texas. The station is responsible for 113.8 border miles between the U.S. and Mexico and 1,100 square miles of area of responsibility.
