Man Dies After Intentionally Setting Himself on Fire

 

ODESSA, TX — An Odessa man dies after he allegedly set himself on fire in Odessa on Wednesday. 

Reports indicate the Odessa Fire Rescue with the assistance of the Fire Marshal's division responded to the report of a structure fire off the 1900 block of N. Hancock Ave. shortly after 7 p.m. Wednesday evening.

The City of Odessa reports the blaze was found to be contained to a separate detached cinder storage unit.

A preliminary investigation of the fire was conducted where investigators learned the man had intentionally set himself on fire.

The individual's body has being sent to Lubbock County for an autopsy at this time.

According to OFR this fire is still under an active investigation.
