D.A. Drops Case Against Convicted Offender

ABILENE, TX — For unknown reasons, the Taylor County District Attorney's Office has dropped new charges filed against convicted sex offender Vinson Carl Higginbotham, Jr.

According to KTXS, Vinson Carl Higginbotham, Jr. was arrested on Monday for charges of sexual performance of a child and possession of child pornography.

On Wednesday, the District Attorney’s office rejected the case.

Back in 2011 Higginbotham pled guilty to possession of child pornography and indecency with a child. The victim was a 10-year-old girl.

Higginbotham was required to register as a sex offender after being sentenced to seven years in prison.
