Perv Arrested Again After Completing Deferred Adjudication

ABILENE, TX — Less than two months after completing his probation, an Abilene registered sex offender was arrested on a new child sex crime.

According to KTXS, in 2008 Kevin Wade McDowell, 36, was arrested for aggravated assault of a child and indecency with a child. The victim was only 11-year-old. In 2010, McDowell pleaded guilty to indecency with a child and got deferred adjudication for 10 years. He was also required to register as a sex offender.

On April 21, 2020, McDowell was discharged from his probation.

According to police, on June 20 McDowell committed another crime against a child. This led to a charge of indecency with a child sexual contact.

McDowell was arrested earlier this week on a pre-indictment warrant and is being held on a $100,000 bond.
