San Angelo Man Indicted For Performing Lewd Acts On a Minor

SAN ANGELO, TX – On the morning of June 4, deputies with the Tom Green County Sheriffs Office arrested Jonathan Juarbe, who was wanted on a local warrant regarding the sexual assault of a child.

Indictment reports indicate that on the afternoon of April 26, the defendant intentionally and knowingly performed salacious acts on a minor at a residence on E. 24th St.

On May 13, an underage female subject was reported as a missing person by family members after witnesses say she was last seen leaving the area of McDonalds off N Bryant Blvd with an older male subject, later identified as the defendant.

An investigator assigned to the Criminal Investigation Division with SAPD read a report of a missing child.

Upon further investigation authorities learned the 15-year-old victim and the 21-year-old defendant had actually been in a relationship for several months.

A forensic interview was conducted with the victim who told authorities the defendant performed sexual acts on her while at the defendant's residence.

As detectives continued their investigation an interview was conducted with the defendant who admitted he and the victim shared a 'friendly' relationship for several months, and even confessed to performing sexual intercourse on the victim.

On June 4, Juarbe was arrested at 5:27 a.m. by deputies with the Tom Green County Sheriffs Office and booked into the Tom Green County Jail where he was later released on a $35,000.00 bond.

Two weeks later, on June 18, 21-year-old Jonathan Alexis Juarbe-Lopez was indicted on one count of Sexual Assault of a Child, which is a Second Degree Felony in the state of Texas that carries a sentence of two to twenty years incarceration in a state prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
