San Angelo Man Indicted for Multiple Crimes Against Children

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – On the afternoon of March 22, 2020, officers with the San Angelo Police Department conducted forensic interviews involving two juvenile victims after the two made outcries to witnesses claiming the pair had been assaulted.

The following afternoon a male subject who was previously identified by the victims as 29 year old, Gregory Anthony Garcia, was arrested by the SAPD and booked into the Tom Green County Jail on various charges including Sexual Abuse of Child Continuous: Victim Under 14 and Indecency W/Child Sexual Contact. 

Indictment reports state that the fist female victim made an outcry to an adult on March 18, 2020 claiming Garcia sexually assaulted her at his residence while the victim was staying the night at his house for a sleep over.

During a forensic interview with the second victim the juvenile admitted to officers that Garcia assaulted her on multiple occasions specifically a time period that was 30 or more days in duration ranging from August 25, 2019 through March 18, 2020.

On March 24, Gregory Garcia posted bail on a $90,000 bond and was later released from the Tom Green County Jail. 

As of May 19, 2020, Garcia was indicted on multiple charges including one count of Sexual Abuse of Child Continuous: Victim Under 14 and three counts of Indecency W/Child Sexual Contact. 

Following his indictment, Gregory Anthony Garcia is currently sitting in the TGCJ awaiting a date to be set for his initial Pre-Trial hearing.

 

Penalties associated with Garcia's arrest include:

  • Sexual Abuse of Child Continuous: Victim Under 14 - First Degree Felony which carries a penalty of 25-99 years imprisonment and a fine not to exceed $10,000.00.
  • Indecency W/Child - Sexual Contact - Second Degree Felony which carries a penalty of two to 20 years in prison and a fine not to exceed $10,000.00.
