Storage Unit Burglar Caught in the Act

SAN ANGELO, TX – A burglar almost got away with robbing a storage this morning, fortunately SAPD officers stopped the man before he got away with the goods.

According to the San Angelo Police Department, on May 15,  just after 6: 00 a.m., a San Angelo Police Officer was conducting proactive storage building burglary patrol at Hunter’s Run Self Storage located at 3435 Green Meadow Drive when he observed an unoccupied Ford pickup truck parked next to a storage unit.

Further inspection revealed the unit’s lock had been cut and the officer heard noises coming from within.

Once backup officers arrived, the officers entered the unit and located a subject hiding behind the stored items. The subject was later identified as 22-year-old Hayden Quinn of Springtown, Texas.

During the follow-up investigation, police discovered the Ford pickup had been reported stolen out of Springtown Texas on a previous date. Officers also located several items inside the pickup that belonged to the owner of the storage unit.

The investigation also led officers to a room at the Sands Motel where they discovered a large amount of suspected stolen property and drug paraphernalia. The property was seized and tagged into evidence.

The motel room was also occupied by a woman and two young children. Child Protective Services was called for further investigation due to poor living conditions.

Quinn was charged with Burglary of Building. Bond has not been set. Additional charges are pending the outcome of this ongoing investigation.
