San Angelo Man Indicted For Assault With a Deadly Weapon

SAN ANGELO, TX – A 25 year-old San Angelo man has been indicted for Assault with a Deadly Weapon after he attacked his mother with a wooden club. According to the report on January 15 an arresting officer arrived on scene where he witnessed Joshua Flores being held down by his father who claimed the defendant had attacked his wife.

Upon further investigation the officer learned that the mother of the defendant came home and was unloading groceries at the time when the defendant asked if she needed help. After she refused his help the defendant began to attack her striking her in the head with the object.

The father who was inside during the initial attack came outside after hearing his wife screaming for help saying "he is hitting me" and attempted to subdue the defendant. Flores then went after the father stating "and you too" and began attacking him with the club, as well as striking him in the face with his fist.

The mother escaped and ran to a neighbors house where 911 was called while the father struggled with the defendant until officers arrived on scene.

Flores is currently being held in Tom Green County Jail awaiting his initial pre-trial hearing set for May 5, 2020.
