San Angelo Man Indicted for Manufacture and Delivery of Cocaine

SAN ANGELO, TX – A San Angelo man was indicted by a Tom Green County grand jury for manufacture and delivery of cocaine.

According to court documents, on Dec. 2, 2019 an officer with the San Angelo Police Department was dispatched to a commercial location on Freeland Ave. for the report of an unwanted male subject on the premises. As the officer arrived on scene he attempted to identify the male subject who then provided the officer with a fake name and took off on foot.

After a short foot pursuit the arresting officer was able to subdue the subject who continued to resist arrest, but eventually provided the officer with the name of Cecil Paul Clinton. During the officers' search twenty two individual bags of cocaine were found hidden in Clinton's right sock, and upon further investigation officers learned that Clinton also had a prior federal warrant.

On February 7 Clinton was indicted on the sole charge of manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance, and is set to have his pretrial hearing April 7 at 2:00 p.m.

Clinton remains in Tom Green County Jail in lieu of a $51,500.00 bond.
