San Saba Middle Schooler Killed In Triple Homicide

SAN SABA, TX – San Saba ISD is mourning the loss of one of their students after a triple homicide claimed the life of a middle schooler.

According to KXAN, Wayne Kelly, Superintendent of San Saba ISD, confirmed a student enrolled at their middle school was one of the victims. The child’s name has not been released, but the school confirmed the victim was a girl enrolled in seventh-grade.

The school was contacted around 6:45 a.m. Friday morning. The crime scene was located approximately one mile away from the school; both the middle school principal and superintendent went to the crime scene. Kelly stated the “incident that led to the deaths was a family violence situation and a suspect has been arrested.”

“We are heartbroken that this has happened and our thoughts and prayers are with the families involved and the San Saba ISD family for their loss,” Kelly wrote in an email to parents and staff.

The school district has set up a crisis counseling area staffed by counselors and pastors to talk with students. A response team from San Angelo has been called to San Saba to assist. San Saba ISD is also a member of a local counseling co-op with six other school districts that have licensed counselors trained in high-needs situations. This partnership lets smaller school districts share important resources when needed.

No further information regarding the incident has been released at this time.
