Accused Carlsbad Murderer and His Girlfriend Were Headed to Canada

SAN ANGELO, TX – The full story of Saturday's murder has began to reveal itself after the girlfriend of the accused murderer was arrested for hindering the apprehension of a known felon. This is the woman who opened up to us yesterday about escaping Tom Green County in her car with the accused murderer, Justin Ramirez. The two were apprehended by law enforcement near Dublin. The girlfriend told us yesterday she and her boyfriend— an accused murderer— were shopping for a better jail than Tom Green County's facilities where Ramirez could turn himself in. In her interview with the Sheriff's investigators today, however, Cheyenne admitted the two were headed for Canada and a life on the run from the law.

As first reported on San Angelo LIVE!, on February 15, deputies with the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the report of a shooting victim. The man has since been identified as Sterling "Mickey" Riley. Here is the original story: WATCH: Law Enforcement Activity in Carlsbad – Possible Shooting

When the deputies arrived, the alleged shooter, Justin Ramirez, 22, was long gone. Check out this story on the details of the scene: AFFIDAVIT: Ramirez Emptied Entire Clip During Carlsbad Murder

San Angelo LIVE! reported later that day that the shooter was captured and another occupant was arrested just outside of Dublin. Tom Green County Deputy Sheriff Nick Hanna spoke on the arrest in a video here: WATCH Chief Deputy Sheriff: Suspect Apprehended in Carlsbad Murder

The following day, San Angelo LIVE! found out that the other occupant in the car was Ramirez's girlfriend Cheyenne Bragdon. She told us her name was Cheyenne Warner in our interview. We learned the information after she sat down for an interview. Here is the story: Accused Carlsbad Murderer's Girlfriend Chronicles Their Daring Escape

According to the affidavit, on February 16, Cheyenne Bragdon also met with the Tom Green County Sheriff's Deputies. In this interview, Bragdon told deputies that she was driving to work when she got a phone call from Ramirez who stated, "I'm about to go to prison for the rest of my life."

After hearing this, Bragdon drove straight to Ramirez's camper where both lived and loaded the car with clothing and other electronics. The two then got into Bragdon's white Chevy Malibu and headed to the South Bryant Walmart to sell the gun used to kill Mickey.

She finished her interview by saying she stayed with Justin because she did not want to be a single mother.

The same day, deputies spoke with the man who purchased the gun. He denied all allegations.

The Texas Rangers were called in on February 18. They spoke with the mother and learned that two minutes prior to deputies showing up in Carlsbad, Bragdon called her mother and told her "Justin shot Mickey in the head."

The two showed up to her home in Eden around noon in the White Chevy Malibu, and the car was actually registered to the mother. During the visit, Bragdon stated to her mother that she was "on the run" and that she had bought a "burner" phone from Walmart. Before leaving the house, Bragdon told her mother that Justin and her were in love and they were going to go to Dallas and then maybe on to Canada.

While the Texas Rangers were talking to the mother, TGCSO deputies were reviewing the video tape from the south Bryant Walmart.  In the video recording, Bragdon pulls into the gas pumps and get out of the driver's side door. Once out of the vehicle, Bragdon grabs something from the other passenger who never got out of the vehicle. Bragdon is seen on camera entering the Walmart at least twice.

After gathering this information, the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office arrested Bragdon for Hindering the Apprehension or Prosecution of a Known Felon. She is currently in the Tom Green County Jail. Her bond is set at $75,000.

They didn't even get past Dublin so you think those geniuses could even find Canada on a map?

What makes these folks think they would be capable of weathering the frozen wastelands of the harsh Canadian tundra full of wild bears, vicious wolves, feral mooses, rabid badgers, and unfettered Canadians girded in their hockey gear smugly roaming the landscape and grunting in patois at the first whiff of fresh hominid blood? They'd be dragged out of their igloo and butchered before they could light their first campfire. And that's just the physical hazards. Imagine the psychological trauma inflicted by "polite" Canadian passive-aggression. Texans may be a lot of things, but at the very least we aren't Canadians.

The girl lies so much it will be headed to Houston to ask NASA to fly them to Mars.
To DC to ask Trump for a pardon
To China to escape illness
To California to be deinvented by Al Gore.
