WATCH Chief Deputy Sheriff: Suspect Apprehended in Carlsbad Murder

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – In a Facebook post at 3:30 p.m. the Tom Green Sheriff's Office stated the following: "Suspects involved in this morning’s shooting in Carlsbad have been apprehended."

Reports indicate the suspect was arrested without incident in Eden. 

Earlier this afternoon Chief Deputy Nick Hanna held a press conference in Carlsbad to provide details regarding the law enforcement activity that occurred in Carlsbad this morning.

According to Hanna, at approximately 9:31 a.m. deputies with the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 11000 block of Marshall St in Carlsbad for a call regarding gunshots and a possible gunshot victim.

When deputies arrived, they found a white male in his mid-twenties with gunshot wounds. The victim was deceased. No information has been released regarding the identity of the victim at this time.

According to Hanna the TGCSO obtained an arrest warrant for Justin Ray Ramirez in connection to the incident. Ramirez is 21 years old and is described as a white male. Authorities believe he was traveling in a 2012 White Chevy Malibu with the possible license plate MXY0162. At the time of the statement, authorities did not believe the public was in danger.

The incident is being investigated in collaboration with the Texas Rangers, DPS, Texas Game Wardens, and other agencies.
