Restaurant Employee Jumps Into Vehicle to Stop Dine-and-Dash

ABILENE, TX – A restaurant employee went above and beyond Tuesday night to prevent a patron from dining and dashing after he jumped in the suspects' cars.

According to KTXS, two suspects arrived at a Golden Chopsticks on Sayles Boulevard and after eating their meal they left the restaurant without paying. The suspects had arrived at the restaurant in a blue Pontiac Vibe, a vehicle they had stolen only hours before.

The employee, identified as Ian Lin, followed the men into the parking lot. Lin told police that the suspects took off, so Lin decided to jump in the car with them. The driver sped down Sayles Blvd and ran a red light before he stopped to let Lin out of the car near Cooper High School.

A few minutes later the driver crashed the vehicle into a front yard fence and struck a truck in a driveway across the street.

Using K-9s, the police caught the suspects hiding in a neighboring yard. The suspects have not been identified by police.
