AFFIDAVIT: Victim Confronted Suspect Moments Before Fatal Stabbing

SAN ANGELO, TX – Robert Arambula, the main suspect in the murder of Rhyheme Talton has been arrested and with that many details have been revealed.

According to the affidavit, officers with the San Angelo Police Department were dispatched to the Stripes convenience store located at 1322 South Abe for a stabbing call. Here is the original story:  Police: Man Stabbed to Death at Stripes.

Within the hour, Rhyheme Talton, 26, was at Shannon Hospital but later died due to his injuries. The Doctor at Shannon told officers that he attempted to save his life but the victim died from a stab wound to the left chest area.

He went on to state that Talton had a slash on the side of his left abdomen as well as other injuries. The doctor finished his statement by telling police he believed that the wounds were caused by a sharp-edged instrument such as a knife.

After hearing this, officers went back to the stripes to gather more information. At this time they were able to gain video surveillance of how the night escalated to the point of murder and to gain information on the suspect.

The officers first gathered information about the suspect. They initially described him as a heavy set, dark complected, Hispanic male wearing a light colored hooded sweatshirt with a dark colored stocking cap. The clerk working that day claimed that he also had grey hair.

The next thing the officers saw in the video was the fight. The affidavit states that the officers observed the suspect and Talton become involved in an altercation with Talton approaching and confronting the suspect. Then the officers say they observed the suspect push Talton back and then making thrusts towards Talton. This is the estimated time when Talton was stabbed. In the video, officers noticed another voice. This was the voice of a female yelling "Robert." With this and the video recording, members of the SAPD's Crime Analysts were able to match the description with 47-year-old Roberto Arambula.

The following day, a warrant for the arrest of Arambula was issued. Here is the story:  WATCH: Police Identify Stripes Stabbing Murder Suspect and Need Help Finding Him
