Police: Basin Strong Benefit Organizer Threatened to Kill Woman
ABILENE, TX – After being arrested for family violence the morning after the Basin Strong Benefit that raised money for the August 31 mass shooting victims, new details have emerged regarding the arrest of co-organizer Ben Henderson.
According to CBS7, a security officer at the Downtown Odessa Marriott, where the benefit was held, called police after he saw Henderson forcibly grab a woman’s arm and walk her down the hallway.
Police responded to the call just before 3:00 a.m. and found a woman sitting on the floor under a table in a conference room. The woman showed the officer a red mark on her arm where she alleged Henderson had grabbed her but refused to cooperate with police or allow them to take a picture of her arm.
According to the affidavit a hotel night supervisor stated she heard Henderson slam a conference room door. When she went to investigate, she allegedly heard him yell “I will f***ing kill you!” at the woman.
Police arrested Henderson and charged him with Assault, Family Violence.
