Juveniles Attempt to Smuggle Illegal Aliens Into The U.S.

DEL RIO, TX – Two juveniles and one adult were arrested by U.S. Border Patrol agents from the Eagle Pass Station and Border Patrol Tactical Unit after they attempted to smuggle seven undocumented immigrants near Quemado on January 16.

According to the U.S. Border Patrol, an 18-year-old from Pflugerville and his passenger, a 17-year-old passenger were attempting to smuggle three individuals aboard a 2018 Toyota Camry. The second vehicle, a 2012 Nissan Altima, was being driven by a 15-year-old.

Agents stopped the vehicles when they observed four individuals walk out of the same spot where they witnessed the Toyota Camry pick up the first group of people.

A total of three U.S. citizens and seven illegal aliens were arrested. The illegal aliens, including one juvenile, were from the countries of Mexico and El Salvador.

“The community needs to be aware that there is no age limit for people to be persuaded into committing a crime,” said Del Rio Sector Chief Patrol Agent Raul L. Ortiz, “ Criminal organizations target juveniles as they are oftentimes the most vulnerable.”
