FBI: Child Predator Could Be in West Texas and Has Oilfield Background

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – The Federal Bureau of Investigation continues to search for a man who is wanted on numerous federal child sex crimes. 

As previously reported on Dec. 12, the FBI sent out a notice of a warrant that has been issued for Jose Arturo Navarrete Jr., 24, for multiple counts of alleged sexual assault of a child under the age of 14 as well as unlawful flight to avoid prosecution. The bureau claims that Navarrete sexually assaulted a child in Sacramento County, California. On June 14, 2019, a felony arrest warrant was issued for Navarrete, Jr. by the Sacramento County Superior Court after he was charged with four counts of Lewd or Lascivious Act with a Child Under 14, three counts of Sex Act with a Child Ten Years Old or Younger, and four counts of Oral Sex With a Child Ten Years Old or Younger. Then, on August 22, a federal arrest warrant was issued in the United States District Court, Eastern District of California, Sacramento, California, for Navarrete, Jr. after he was charged with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.

Navarrete was last seen in the Midland/Odessa area but authorities believe he is either in West Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, or Mexico. He has experience in the oil field as his occupation listed is a welder's assistant. 

Navarrete is a 5'11" Hispanic Male. He is 24 years old and was born in Midland Texas.
