Suspect Tased After Fleeing From Police

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – Shortly before 9:30 p.m. San Angelo Police Officers responded to an unknown problem at the 1100 block of E. 22nd Street.

According to an officer at the scene, when they arrived there appeared to have been an incident of family violence. During the investigation, a suspect, identified as Lolis Gist, attempted to flee from police.

When he was detained, he resisted arrest and officers deployed their tasers in an attempt to placate the suspect. Two different tasers were used and the suspect received a total of 3 cycles from the tasers. The suspect was transported to the hospital after being taken into custody.

Gist will be charged with family violence and resisting and evading arrest.
