College Professor Charged With Murder After Deadly Road Rage Incident

 

ODESSA, TX – Midland College professor, William "Cliff" Goble, 60, was charged with first-degree murder. According to authorities the professor shot and killed another man after a road rage incident.

According to CBS7, Goble and David Young, 50, were arguing at the 1400 block of Spur Avenue in Odessa when Goble shot Young. There is no information regarding what led to the argument, but authorities disclosed that Young died from a single gunshot wound after being transported to Medical Center Hospital.

When Odessa Police Department responded to the call, Goble was at the scene and he was subsequently arrested in connection with the incident.

Goble is the department chair in health sciences at Midland College and was an associate professor for Midland ISD’s Health Sciences Academy. Goble is also a registered nurse who used to work at Midland Memorial Hospital. Goble is currently on paid administrative leave pending the investigation.

Goble had been arrested two times before for public intoxication and is currently being held at the Ector County jail on a $250,000 bond.
