A Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender Was Arrested Friday

VICTORIA, TX – After being placed on the Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex offender list in early November, Steve Lopez, 53, was arrested on Friday.

According to KXTS, Lopez had been wanted since August 2018 for failing to register as a sex offender. Lopez had been living in Abilene before he went on the run.

Lopez was convicted of aggravated sexual assault for an incident involving a 10-year-old girl in Nolan County in 1999. He was sentenced to five years in prison.

A  $3,000 reward was offered for information that could lead to the capture of Lopez. The tip information received through Crime Stoppers is being looked over to determine whether a reward will be granted.
