Father Chokes and Holds Knife to Mother in Front of Kids for Hours

SAN ANGELO, TX -- A man was arrested on Saturday after choking, holding a knife to, and holding down his wife for hours.

According to the Affidavit signed by Justice of the Peace Susan Werner, on August 10 the San Angelo Police Department were dispatched to the 5800 block of Berkley St. for the report of family violence.

When they arrived they met with the victim who told them that prior to them arriving her and 32-year-old Ernesto Vallejo had gotten into an argument.

The victim told police that the argument quickly became physical and she attempted to call the police.

This is when Vallejo grabbed the phone from her and threw her onto the bed. He then jumped on top of her and held a large knife over her as if he was trying to kill her. Police say all this happened in front of the victims two sons.

Vallejo held her down for one to two hours and repeatedly choked her until police arrived.

The victim told police that this incident made her fear for her life and felt that Vallejo was capable of killing her.

Vallejo is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and assault to a family member by impeding breath. He is currently in the Tom Green County Jail and his bond is set at $50,000.
