Possible Anthrax Attack in Abilene at Taylor County Courthouse

 

ABILENE, TX -- A hazardous materials team suited up in Abilene Monday after an employee in the Taylor County District Clerk's office opened an envelope with a suspicious substance inside. 

KTXS is reporting the letter was turned over to courthouse security Monday afternoon and was tested for anthrax and other substances. 

Investigators are awaiting the results of those tests. 

Reports indicate the woman who opened the letter was evaluated and is not injured. 

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is conducting an investigation and is in custody of the letter.  

This is an ongoing investigation.
